Anthony Harper is seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join their innovative team in Auckland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique service offering - Discovery Specialists, the first of its kind in New Zealand. The successful candidate will have the chance to engage with a sizeable target market, educating them on the value proposition of Discovery Specialists and developing a growing funnel of discovery opportunities. This role requires gaining a basic understanding of litigation processes and then applying a systematic and disciplined sales approach, offering considerable potential to contribute to Anthony Harper's revenue growth.

What you'll do:
As a Business Development Manager at Anthony Harper, you will play an integral role in promoting our unique service offering - Discovery Specialists. You will be tasked with contacting agreed targets, educating them on our value proposition, and over time, developing a growing funnel of discovery opportunities. Your role will require you to build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, represent the company at industry events, update CRM records regularly, and manage a growing pipeline of business development opportunities. Your ability to apply your growing sales experiences and learnings will be key in evolving the promotion and sales methodology of Discovery Specialists.

* Apply a disciplined sales approach to engage with target prospects; meet to pitch the Discovery Specialists value proposition, follow-up and keep the brand front of mind.
* Build a growing network of contacts within target sectors, developing intelligence of upcoming discovery opportunities.
* Follow up on warm introductions and email/letter campaigns facilitated by the team at Anthony Harper.
* Proactively create sales momentum via cold calling when needed.
* Apply your growing sales experiences and learnings (successes & failures) to evolve the promotion and sales methodology of the Discovery Specialists.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients and partners.
* Represent the company at industry events to promote products/services and generate leads.
* Update CRM records and provide required sales activity reports in an informative way and in a timely manner.
* At all times present and engage with warmth and professionalism.
* Manage and maintain a growing pipeline of business development opportunities.

What you bring:
The ideal Business Development Manager will bring a wealth of experience in business development and sales, with a minimum of 2 years in the field. You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Law, or Marketing, and ideally, previous knowledge and relationships within the legal industry. Your excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with clients and partners. You will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful business growth strategies. Your strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with your ability to work independently and proactively, will be key to your success in this role.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Law, or Marketing is essential.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in business development and sales is required.
* Previous legal industry knowledge and relationships are desirable.
* Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing business growth strategies is necessary.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are crucial.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are needed.
* Experience working independently and proactively is a must.
* Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is important.
* Proficiency in using relevant software is required.
* Willingness to travel as required.
