This role is pivotal in the successful launch and ongoing management of a brand new, premium outlet shopping destination set to redefine retail experiences. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping operational strategies, managing external service contracts, and ensuring the smooth running of the centre from day one. This role offers an unparalleled chance to contribute to a project that will significantly impact the retail landscape in New Zealand.
What you'll do:
As the Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive, effective, and efficient operational on-site facilities management for a brand new retail facility. You will work closely with the Centre Manager and wider team to build the operational strategy and processes prior to the opening of this new facility. Your responsibilities will extend beyond strategy formulation to include contract management, building management & maintenance, project management, and on-site contractor management. Your leadership will ensure that this facility achieves day-to-day operational excellence, providing a safe, clean, and functional environment for retail tenants and visitors.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Facilities Manager position brings significant experience in facilities management within a shopping centre or similar retail environment. You have a thorough understanding of building facilities management, including experience with Building Management Systems (BMS). Your technical knowledge extends to maintenance requirements for HVAC and lighting systems. You have proven experience in contract procurement and management, with a knack for managing on-site contractors. Your project management skills are top-notch, with a track record of successfully transitioning assets from development to operational readiness. Above all, you possess excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to think strategically amidst business complexity.
