From Wellington's shores to global horizons

Before I started at Robert Walters, I worked for a smaller recruitment agency, where I gained valuable experience but yearned for a bigger platform, one that offered extensive training, abundant opportunities, and a vibrant community of like-minded individuals. I’m a boomerang. I started at Robert Walters 9 years ago as a Candidate Manager. After three great years, I left on an adventure to the Netherlands, exploring recruitment opportunities abroad. In 2020, I found myself back where it all began, with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication. 

Since my return, my career has progressed beyond what I could have expected. From starting as a Candidate Manager, I swiftly climbed the ranks to Consultant, Senior Consultant, Managing Consultant, Manager, and now, Senior Manager. This progression has been nothing short of phenomenal, and I owe it to the unwavering support and mentorship provided by my colleagues and managers at Robert Walters.

I've had the privilege of being mentored by seasoned leaders, attending training sessions, and participating in international ventures that broadened my horizons. What I love most about my time at Robert Walters is the camaraderie I share with my colleagues. They aren't just coworkers; they're friends for life. Also, the travel opportunities, including trips to Rarotonga, Thailand, and Australia, have added a dash of adventure to my professional journey.

My life has changed so much during my tenure at Robert Walters. From progressing my career, building my first home, and now, preparing to embark on the journey of parenthood, Robert Walters has been a constant source of support and flexibility. From support with mortgage payments to a generous parental leave policy, the benefits are incredible. I'm fortunate enough to be able to take a year off to enjoy time with my daughter once she’s born, and that, for me, is priceless.

As a manager, I enjoy additional leave days and the flexibility to manage my schedule according to my needs. Whether it's leaving early or working remotely, the emphasis on outcomes rather than hours worked allows me to strike the perfect balance between work and life.
