Senior Finance Manager

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical accounting expertise with strategic business partnering to drive growth and operational excellence.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee the day-to-day finance operations while building scalable systems, processes, and capabilities to support business transformation. You’ll lead a high-performing finance team, deliver insightful reporting to the Board and Leadership Team, and ensure compliance with NZ IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards. With a focus on automation and AI-enabled tools, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of finance within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Control: Ensure accurate, timely financial records and reporting across NZ and Australian entities.
• Planning & Forecasting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow analysis to support decision-making.
• Business Partnering: Provide commercial insights that drive pricing, margin, investment, and cost decisions.
• Technical Accounting & Audit: Manage external audits, resolve technical accounting matters, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Optimise ERP systems (NetSuite) and implement automation tools for efficiency.
• Leadership: Develop and coach the finance team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• CA or CPA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing a finance team.
• Strong financial control background with audit management expertise.
• Business partnering skills with senior leaders or Boards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and interest in automation/technology.
• Knowledge of NZ and Australian tax/statutory requirements.

• Exposure to scaling businesses or those undergoing transformation (desired).
• Telecommunications, technology, or SaaS sector experience (desired).
