Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role: Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing day-to-day finance operations, and supporting a high-performing finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a complex organisation comprising over 30 trading entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the finance team, including accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow management.
• Manage month-end processes, actuals reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), and consolidations across multiple entities.
• Ensure compliance with IRD regulations (GST, FBT, Tax) and liaise with external tax consultants.
• Administer bank funding facilities, covenant reporting, and banking relationships.
• Lead the production of statutory accounts and assist with annual tax returns.
• Drive system upgrades for transaction systems (Vision & Xero) and reporting systems (IBM Planning Analytics).
• Provide mentorship to team members and foster cross-divisional collaboration.
• Support HR and payroll matters as required by the Finance Director.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (CA or CPA).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and IRD compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and financial systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience in infrastructure ownership environments or organisations with complex stakeholder priorities.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and performance metrics.
