Change Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Change Manager to join a respected public sector organisation in Wellington. This role will see you shaping and guiding change across complex programmes and projects that directly impact communities. As a Change Manager, you’ll lead end-to-end change management responsibilities for major programmes or projects. You’ll engage with stakeholders at all levels from teams like HR and Strategy to external partners to drive business readiness for new initiatives. Your role involves designing robust change strategies aligned with organisational culture and legislative requirements while embedding new ways of working to enhance service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:

The ideal candidate has substantial experience navigating complex organisational environments where stakeholder engagement is critical. You excel at implementing structured change management approaches within multifaceted projects or programmes while building trust-based relationships across diverse teams. Your ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language ensures smooth transitions for all audiences.
Key qualifications and skills:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in organisational change management within large environments.
- Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) with expertise in best practice methodologies.
- Proven ability to develop tailored change plans for diverse stakeholders in project settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships across multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Analytical abilities for conducting impact assessments and identifying effective interventions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation, briefings, and training facilitation.
- Commitment to professionalism, respect for diversity, empathy, integrity, and cultural awareness.
- New Zealand government experience.
