SAP FICO Functional Consultant
Our client is a well-established New Zealand organisation with a large-scale SAP S/4HANA environment supporting a complex, multi-site operation. Following a major transformation programme, they are seeking an experienced Senior SAP FICO Functional Consultant to provide ongoing support, optimisation and functional leadership across their finance systems.
This is a business-critical role offering long-term stability, with the initial 12-month fixed-term contract expected to be extended annually.
About the Role
Working closely with finance stakeholders and technology teams, you'll be responsible for supporting and enhancing the SAP S/4HANA Finance landscape while ensuring users receive effective day-to-day support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and optimising SAP FI/CO processes across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting and Cost Accounting.
- Investigating and resolving functional and accounting issues across SAP and integrated systems.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
- Leading configuration, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Providing training and guidance to end users.
- Monitoring interfaces and tracing transactions from source through to reporting.
- Driving best practice and contributing to the ongoing evolution of the SAP environment.
- Mentoring and developing junior team members.
About You
We're looking for a senior SAP Finance professional who enjoys solving problems, partnering with users and improving business processes.
You'll bring:
- 8+ years' experience working with SAP FI/CO in implementation and support environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance, including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Hands-on experience with SAP configuration and integration with other SAP modules.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate issues end-to-end.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and CDS Views would be advantageous.
