Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a Tier 1 New Zealand construction business with a long-standing reputation for delivering quality projects across commercial, residential, aged care, industrial, retail, and fit-out sectors. With a strong forward workload and continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their successful Interiors & Light Commercial team.

The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of refurbishment, fit-out, and light commercial construction projects. You'll be responsible for managing project financials, supporting project teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cost management and financial control across multiple projects
- Establishing project cost reports, budgets, estimates, and cost codes
- Reviewing and administering head contract documentation
- Preparing and submitting monthly progress claims
- Managing project variations, pricing updates, and re-measurements
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations
- Preparing tender submissions and cost comparisons
- Reviewing subcontractor scopes, inclusions, exclusions, and conditions
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Regular site engagement to ensure commercial decisions align with project delivery outcomes
- Supporting estimating activities and pricing of new opportunities
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across project delivery
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of five years' Quantity Surveying experience within New Zealand construction
- Experience working on commercial construction projects of similar scale and complexity
- Main contractor experience (highly regarded)
- Proven experience preparing and submitting tenders
- Strong commercial acumen and contract administration skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and project financials simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- A genuine desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment
