The Role

As a Senior Estimator, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of refurbishment, fit-out, and light commercial construction projects. You'll be responsible for managing project financials, supporting project teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Cost management and financial control across multiple projects
• Establishing project cost reports, budgets, estimates, and cost codes
• Reviewing and administering head contract documentation
• Preparing and submitting monthly progress claims
• Managing project variations, pricing updates, and re-measurements
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations
• Preparing tender submissions and cost comparisons
• Reviewing subcontractor scopes, inclusions, exclusions, and conditions
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Regular site engagement to ensure commercial decisions align with project delivery outcomes
• Supporting estimating activities and pricing of new opportunities
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across project delivery

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A minimum of five years' Quantity Surveying or Estimating experience within New Zealand construction
• Experience working on commercial construction projects of similar scale and complexity
• Main contractor experience (highly regarded)
• Proven experience preparing and submitting tenders over $5M
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and project financials simultaneously
• Strong grasp of NZ construction methods, subcontract markets and Building Code requirement
• Advanced take-off, cost planning, procurement and commercial risk-management skill
• NZ Diploma in Construction (Quantity Surveying) or equivalent recognised qualification
• A genuine desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment
