As a Senior Inventory Specialist, you will be at the heart of our operations. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day logistics, ensuring smooth inwards and outwards goods flow. You will also oversee our chemical inventory system, ensuring that all chemical purchasing, handling, storage, distribution, and shipping are accurately documented and meet or exceed legislative requirements. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with both internal resources and external suppliers. Your commitment to health & safety will be paramount as you lead hazardous substances activities. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse and inclusive environment.
Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the logistics team
Ensure the effective delivery of hazardous substances activities, prioritising health & safety
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Lead the decanting and disposal of surplus substances
Maintain ownership of the chemical inventory system and its end-to-end processes
Participate in all health & safety initiatives, emergency management, and business continuity activities
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Inventory Specialist role brings a wealth of knowledge in courier, transport, and delivery practices - especially when it comes to hazardous goods. You're willing to go the extra mile by attaining a forklift licence if you don't already have one. Your understanding of the HSNO act and GHS classification systems will be crucial in this role. You're known for your organisational skills, even in a busy and complex environment, and you're digitally savvy, always quick to learn new tools and applications. Your eye for detail is second to none, and you always strive to deliver quality. With excellent communication skills, you're able to build strong relationships and provide great support services as a positive team player.
Understanding of courier, transport, and delivery practices, particularly for hazardous goods
Willingness to attain a forklift licence if not already held
Knowledge of the HSNO act, GHS classification systems, and requirements
