As a Senior Inventory Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient flow of goods, accurate documentation, and compliance with legislative requirements. You'll lead a dedicated team of internal resources and external suppliers, driving excellence in chemical purchasing, handling, storage, distribution, and shipping. What the Role Entails:
• Lead day-to-day hazardous substances activities, prioritizing health and safety at all times. • Build and nurture positive relationships with key stakeholders and external suppliers, fostering trust and open communication. • Oversee the decanting and disposal of surplus substances, ensuring proper protocols are followed. • Own and maintain the chemical inventory system, managing end-to-end processes with meticulous attention to detail. • Participate in health and safety initiatives, emergency management, and business continuity activities. • Fulfill other duties as required, including participation in the call-out roster.
Experience Required:
• Understanding of courier, transport, and delivery practices, particularly for hazardous goods. • Willingness to attain or possession of a forklift license. • Knowledge of the HSNO Act and GHS classification systems and requirements (Must have!) • Exceptional organizational skills in managing a busy and complex environment. • Proficiency in digital tools and applications, with a quick learning aptitude. • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Proven ability to influence, persuade, coach, and negotiate at all levels within an organization.
