A leading organisation is seeking a Senior ICT Procurement Contractor to join their team in Penrose, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial direction of major technology initiatives. It offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of early-stage commercial strategy and planning, collaborating closely with programme teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the success of upcoming ICT projects and programmes.

What you'll do:
6 Month Contract
As a Senior ICT Procurement Contractor, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around supporting early-stage commercial strategy for major technology initiatives. You will collaborate extensively with programme teams to develop robust commercial cases for new projects, ensuring that all relevant factors are considered from inception. By engaging with senior stakeholders, you will help shape approaches that reflect both organisational priorities and communal values. Your role involves identifying future workstreams within the ICT procurement function, triaging them effectively so resources can be allocated thoughtfully.
  • Collaborate with programme teams to ideate and form commercial cases for upcoming ICT projects and programmes, ensuring all perspectives are considered.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to shape and agree on commercial approaches that support organisational goals and foster communal success.
  • Identify and triage upcoming and future work within the ICT procurement function, maintaining a clear overview of priorities and timelines.
  • Support early-stage planning by providing expert advice on commercial strategy, risk assessment, and stakeholder management.
  • Facilitate agreement among stakeholders by nurturing relationships built on trust, empathy, and open communication.
  • Contribute to the development of procurement frameworks that promote inclusivity, transparency, and responsible decision-making.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial strategies are aligned with broader organisational objectives.
  • Champion collaborative practices that encourage knowledge sharing and mutual support within the procurement function.
  • Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to inform commercial planning and maintain a responsive approach to change.
  • Provide ongoing guidance throughout project lifecycles, helping teams navigate complex commercial challenges with sensitivity and understanding.
What you bring:
You will bring extensive experience from previous roles focused on ICT procurement or commercial strategy within large-scale organisations. Your proven track record demonstrates your ability to connect meaningfully with colleagues across departments while fostering trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders. You possess strong analytical skills that allow you to assess project requirements thoroughly and develop sensitive risk assessments.
  • Proven experience in ICT procurement or commercial strategy roles within large organisations, demonstrating your ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to build trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical abilities for identifying project requirements, assessing risks sensitively, and developing thoughtful commercial cases.
  • Excellent communication skills for facilitating agreement among stakeholders through polite negotiation and empathetic listening.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a pleasant demeanour under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practices that support communal goals within procurement functions.
  • Experience in early-stage planning for technology initiatives, including ideation of project/programme commercial cases.
  • Knowledge of market trends in ICT procurement that informs responsive strategy development.
  • Capacity for nurturing collaborative environments where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
  • Understanding of procurement frameworks that emphasise transparency, responsibility, and ethical decision-making.
