Manager Risk and Assurance

The Opportunity

Reporting to a senior executive leader, you will provide strategic oversight of risk, assurance, and audit functions, ensuring robust frameworks, processes, and systems are in place to support effective governance and organisational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a team of risk and assurance professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Providing strategic leadership across internal audit, quality assurance, risk management, and compliance activities.
• Designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing risk, audit, and assurance frameworks that align with best practice.
• Developing systems, tools, and processes that strengthen organisational risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.
• Delivering comprehensive audit planning, assurance programmes, and reporting to senior leaders and governance forums.
• Providing trusted advice to senior executives on governance, controls, risk management, and organisational assurance.
• Driving quality assurance initiatives that improve organisational performance, accountability, and decision-making.

About You

To be successful, you will be a proven leader with extensive experience operating within complex environments and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

You will bring:

• Significant people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, capability development, and building high-performing teams.
• Strong internal audit, assurance, and quality assurance experience gained within a large organisation.
• Demonstrated success implementing and embedding audit, assurance, and risk management frameworks.
• Experience developing systems, processes, and tools that enhance organisational risk and assurance maturity.
• Expertise in audit planning, assurance programme delivery, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at executive and governance levels.
• Strong analytical capability and the ability to translate complex risks and findings into practical business insights.
