Sustainability Technical Analyst
Northwest Healthcare Properties, a global leader in healthcare real estate, is seeking a Sustainability Technical Analyst to join their dedicated team in Auckland. What you'll do:
As a Sustainability Technical Analyst at Northwest Healthcare Properties, you will be instrumental in driving forward the company’s ambitious sustainability agenda. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist with calculating and validating Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions data using GHG Protocol standards to ensure accurate environmental reporting
- Support the preparation of annual sustainability and climate-related disclosures by gathering, organising, and verifying relevant data inputs
- Maintain ESG data management tools and trackers to facilitate both internal analysis and external reporting requirements.
- Prepare clearly referenced datasets and comprehensive documentation to support assurance processes and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with property, asset management, and operations teams to collect energy usage and utility data from diverse sources across the organisation.
- Respond promptly to internal queries regarding environmental data while escalating any issues or gaps to senior team members as needed.
- Assist in managing sustainability-related investor relations by preparing financial and sustainability reports for Board members and executive stakeholders.
- Research evolving ESG disclosure frameworks such as XRB and GRESB to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support for basic emissions modelling, energy benchmarking activities, and GHG forecasting tools using Excel.
- Help track, organise, and maintain technical evidence required for assurance providers while ensuring version control of all submitted environmental data.
What you bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering, sustainability or a related discipline are essential for this position.
- A minimum of three to five year's experience working in sustainability roles focused on environmental data analysis or ESG reporting is required.
- Familiarity with GHG Protocol standards as well as understanding of environmental data formats such as utility bills and emission factors is necessary.
- Advanced Microsoft excel skills.
- Experience preparing or contributing to GHG inventories or ESG disclosures.
- Knowledge of New Zealand and Australian climate-related disclosure regulations
