Financial Operations & Technical Advice

  • Lead the month-end close process and oversee the integrity of the general ledger, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll interfaces, and annual insurance renewals.
  • Provide high-quality financial advice to the CFO and broader organisation on statutory and taxation obligations.

Governance, Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure legislative and compliance obligations are met.
  • Support internal assurance programmes and Audit & Risk Committee activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process enhancement, automation, and system optimisation.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Audit New Zealand and MBIE.

Financial Systems Leadership

  • Own and manage the Commission's financial management system.
  • Drive system improvements, upgrades, training, and user support.
  • Ensure financial systems remain efficient, reliable, and fit for purpose.

People Leadership
