Finance Business Partner

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Business Partner to join their team in Auckland Central. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide business partnering to a leading service provider, with a focus on delivering insightful reporting and analysis to key stakeholders. The successful candidate will also partner with the Group Financial Planning Manager on financial modelling for forecasts and valuations, M&A analysis, and Group treasury.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Business Partner, your role will be pivotal in driving the financial success of our client's operations. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive business partnering across the group, preparing high-quality monthly reporting packs, and using Adaptive Insights for advanced reporting and analysis. Your keen understanding of key business drivers will enable you to produce relevant analysis and commentary that informs strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will support detailed 5-year three statement modelling for banking syndicate and capital planning, contributing significantly to the annual budget process. Your expertise will also extend to treasury management, where you will assist in managing a large debt and hedge book.

  • Provide business partnering across the group
  • Prepare and continuously develop high-quality monthly reporting packs
  • Use and develop Adaptive Insights for reporting and analysis
  • Interact with ELT and regional managers on performance, trend analysis - highlighting opportunities for the business to improve profitability and grow
  • Understand key drivers of the business to produce relevant analysis and commentary
  • Support detailed 5-year three statement modelling for banking syndicate and capital planning
  • Contribute to the annual budget process, including developing annual business plans with ELT and regional managers
  • Assist in the management of a large debt and hedge book


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Business Partner role brings a wealth of experience in finance within a commercially driven environment. With at least 3 years' post-qualification experience under your belt, you possess strong technical accounting knowledge along with an understanding of financial reporting standards. Your ability to analyse data into meaningful insights is second-to-none, as is your capability to write robust Board papers. You are highly proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications, with experience working with Adaptive, NetSuite or other large ERP systems. Your qualifications include CA/ACA/CFA/CPA, and you have a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • CA/ACA/CFA/CPA qualification with a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Minimum 3+ years’ post qualification experience in a commercially driven business environment
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, understanding of financial reporting standards
  • Comfortable analysing data into meaningful insights, capable of writing robust Board papers
  • High proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Experience working with Adaptive, NetSuite or other large ERP system
