Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join Silverfin Capital, a well-established property investment and funds management business based in Auckland.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Management Accountant role will see you taking ownership of key accounting and reporting functions across the business and the property schemes it manages. You will play an integral role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining strong financial controls across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage the year-end financial reporting process and coordinate external audits
• Prepare annual accounts and supporting working papers.
• Produce quarterly SIPO reporting and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide meaningful insights to senior management.
• Support capital investment analysis, pricing decisions, and contract evaluations.
• Manage annual budgeting processes across property syndicates and assist with forecasting activities.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Ensure bank reconciliations are completed accurately and within required timeframes.
• Manage GST, PIE and RWT reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with all IRD requirements.
• Maintain financial controls, accounting records, and an effective chart of accounts.
• Liaise with auditors, accountants, and external advisors to support reporting and compliance obligations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across financial systems, reporting processes, and controls.

Key Requirements

• Chartered Accountant qualification
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using XERO
• Experience within a business advisory role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent attention to detail.
• Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical financial insights to support business decisions.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
