An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Coordinator to join a respected organisation in Auckland on a 3–6 month contract. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive and inclusive environment, where your attention to detail and interpersonal skills will be highly valued.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will become an integral part of a close-knit team dedicated to delivering exceptional support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Your days will be varied—balancing inbox management with maintaining accurate records, liaising with Payroll for seamless transitions and guiding managers through policy questions. You’ll also contribute valuable insights by analysing data from key HR metrics. Beyond core administration duties, you’ll have the chance to get involved in impactful projects such as well being initiatives or engagement surveys. Success in this role comes from your ability to juggle multiple priorities with care while always keeping people at the heart of what you do.

  • Manage the employment and HR inbox by responding promptly and thoughtfully to queries from managers and employees, ensuring everyone feels supported and informed.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive employee records, including personal information, contracts, employment documentation, and issue variations to employment agreements as required.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR records and systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and up-to-date information across all platforms.

What you bring:

To excel as a Human Resources Coordinator in this contract role, you will bring proven experience supporting busy HR teams—ideally within large or complex organisations where your reliability has been matched by your commitment to confidentiality. Your natural empathy allows you to build trust quickly with both managers seeking guidance and employees needing reassurance. You are comfortable navigating New Zealand’s employment landscape while translating technical details into practical advice. Above all else, your passion for helping others ensures you are always ready to lend support wherever it’s needed most.

  • Demonstrated experience in an HR coordination or administration role where you have managed sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • A strong understanding of New Zealand employment legislation along with practical knowledge of best practice HR policies and procedures.
