What you'll do:

As a Senior React Native Developer based in Auckland, you will immerse yourself in the creation of engaging mobile experiences that bring stories to life for diverse audiences. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with talented colleagues to design innovative solutions for both Android and iOS platforms. You will have the opportunity to experiment with new technologies by building prototypes, optimising application performance, and ensuring seamless integration with various APIs. Your commitment to quality will shine through in your thorough testing processes and detailed technical documentation. By supporting your peers through mentoring and code reviews, you will foster a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive. Your contributions will extend beyond coding as you help shape products that celebrate culture, language, and community connection.

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android and iOS applications using React Native and native build tools such as Xcode and Android Studio.
  • Evaluate solution designs by building prototypes that demonstrate feasibility and performance improvements.
  • Test code thoroughly to ensure optimal performance across devices while deploying and maintaining robust apps and solutions.
  • Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing development and maintenance activities.
  • Support fellow team members through constructive code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Integrate mobile applications with native modules, APIs, real-time push notifications, and mobile SDKs for seamless user experiences.
  • Utilise RESTful APIs and DevOps practices while ensuring familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment processes.
  • Apply Apple Human Interface guidelines and Google Material Design principles to create intuitive interfaces that delight users.
  • Contribute to the development of video streaming applications as well as both online and offline app functionalities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that align with organisational goals and cultural values.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in software development focused on cloud platforms and mobile applications.
  • Proven track record in developing mobile apps for both Android and iOS using React Native alongside native build tools such as Xcode or Android Studio.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate native modules, utilise APIs (including RESTful), implement real-time push notifications, and work with mobile SDKs.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines for streamlined deployment processes.
  • Understanding of Apple Human Interface guidelines as well as Google Material Design principles for creating user-friendly interfaces.
  • Experience developing video streaming applications is highly advantageous for this role.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, Typescript, HTML, CSS, or Nextjs would be beneficial.
  • Comfortable working with version control systems (Git), CI/CD tools, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
