Senior Back-End Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Full Stack or Back-End Engineer with a specialisation in Python and FastAPI for a 6-month project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing robust applications and APIs, leveraging their expertise in Python and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end components and services using Python and FastAPI.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Implement and optimise RESTful APIs to support seamless communication between client and server.
• Work with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to deploy and manage applications.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability through best practices, including code reviews and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and design of the application stack.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of professional experience in back-end or full stack development with a focus on Python.
• Expertise in FastAPI for building APIs.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Developer Products (GDP) is required.
• Strong understanding of application development and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
