An exciting opportunity for a Contract Senior Technical Specialist to join a highly respected organisation in Auckland, supporting a significant IBM MQ upgrade project. This long-term contract role, running until April 2026, is perfect for someone who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys contributing to large-scale technology transformations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in platform design, automation, and migration activities.

What you'll do:

• Participate in daily standups and agile ceremonies to ensure seamless communication and progress tracking across the project team.
• Contribute technical expertise to key platform design decisions, helping shape the future state of critical infrastructure.
• Automate manual processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Support the delivery lead by providing accurate updates on timelines and deliverables, ensuring project milestones are being met.
• Work closely with development teams to facilitate smooth migrations onto the new IBM MQ platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Document technical solutions and best practices
• Assist in troubleshooting complex issues as they arise during migration or automation activities

What you bring:

• IBM MQ (with migration experience desired) on Linux
• Ansible automation
• Terraform
• CI/CD or DevOps
• 5+ years industry experience
• Banking experience desirable
• Experienced in Agile ways of working
