Project Finance Lawyer

This role offers the chance to work on some of New Zealand’s most significant and complex transactions, including major infrastructure, renewable energy, and property finance projects. What you'll do:

• Advise clients on all aspects of project finance transactions across infrastructure, renewable energy, construction, and property sectors
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex financing agreements and related documentation for large-scale projects with cross-border considerations
• Collaborate closely with senior lawyers and partners to deliver strategic advice on debt capital markets, financial regulation, and corporate finance matters
• Support clients through the full lifecycle of project finance deals, from initial structuring through to financial close
• Conduct thorough due diligence on project documents and counterparties to identify risks and propose practical solutions

What you bring:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with minimum 4 PQE in Banking & Finance Law, obtained within a reputable firm
• Demonstrated expertise advising on project finance transactions involving infrastructure or renewable energy sectors; experience with property or construction finance is highly regarded but not mandatory
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities enabling you to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients from varied backgrounds
• Proven capacity for critical thinking combined with sound judgement when navigating multifaceted legal issues under tight deadlines
