Solicitor - Projects, Energy & Infrastructure
A leading New Zealand law firm is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join their highly regarded Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team in Auckland. What you'll do:
- Collaborate with senior lawyers on large-scale projects and commercial transactions across New Zealand
- Draft and negotiate front-end contracts for clients operating in the energy, infrastructure, construction, and natural resources sectors
- Provide comprehensive project delivery advice by interpreting contracts, investigating issues arising during project execution, and developing practical solutions
- Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and offer strategic guidance throughout all stages of project development
- Support conflict resolution processes by identifying potential risks early and advising on effective strategies without engaging in litigation
- Contribute to the successful completion of renewable energy projects by applying sector-specific knowledge to address technical challenges
What you bring:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission to the High Court within New Zealand, and a current practising certificate (or the ability to obtain one)
- Minimum 2+ PQE obtained within a private practice firm with experience in commercial contracts, infrastructure law, energy law or construction law
- Dispute resolution experience would be beneficial but not mandatory as this is not a litigation role
- A practical approach to problem-solving enables you to identify workable solutions tailored to each project’s unique context
- Familiarity with renewable energy or infrastructure sectors
