An exceptional opportunity awaits an experienced professional to join a highly respected global professional services firm as an Associate Director within the Turnaround and Restructuring team, based in Auckland. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by supporting under performing businesses through periods of change, stabilisation, and growth.

What you'll do:

As an Associate Director, you will play a central role in guiding organisations through periods of uncertainty or transition. Your day-to-day activities will :

  • Play a pivotal role in delivering assignments that meet client timelines, budgets, and desired outcomes by applying your knowledge of turnaround and restructuring strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with senior management, mid-level executives, legal professionals, banks, lenders, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration throughout each engagement.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify commercial challenges faced by clients and develop tailored solutions such as cost reduction initiatives, working capital improvements, accelerated mergers or acquisitions, refinancing strategies, or exit options.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans by outlining objectives, identifying key risks, and establishing clear terms of reference for each client engagement.
  • Monitor progress against project milestones while adapting plans as necessary to address evolving client needs or external factors impacting delivery.
  • Perform cashflow forecast reviews and undertake sensitivity analyses to provide clients with actionable insights into their financial positions.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across deal advisory disciplines at both local and national levels to deliver integrated solutions spanning due diligence and debt advisory engagements.
  • Support the strategic goals of the division by contributing operationally to successful engagement delivery as well as nurturing staff development and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Drive business growth through proactive identification of new opportunities, building networks within the market, acquiring new clients, and promoting the full suite of services offered by the organisation.

What you bring:

  • 5+ year's experience in a professional role including specific experience within the Corporate Finance/Financial Restructuring/Turnaround/Insolvency environment.
  • Some corporate insolvency experience beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate well across a range of operational and financial staff at all levels.
  • Familiarity with legal frameworks relating to Restructuring & Insolvency
  • Demonstrated ability in business development including being able to market self and attract new clients to the firm
  • Financial modelling capability would be advantageous
  • Membership or qualification with a relevant professional organisation
  • Previous experience and a proven track record in the overall management and leadership of staff both as a team and in terms of their technical work
