Senior Project Manager

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining project scope, objectives, success measures, and key milestones.
• Developing and maintaining delivery plans, roadmaps, and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
• Coordinating engagement with internal teams, external stakeholders, and delivery partners to ensure aligned planning and decision-making.
• Establishing governance structures, reporting frameworks, and decision-making processes.
• Preparing high-quality updates and reports for senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Managing risks, issues, and dependencies across the project lifecycle.
• Supporting implementation planning, testing, and transition into business-as-usual operations.
• Driving collaboration across diverse teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

About you

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who thrives in dynamic environments and has a proven track record of delivering complex projects in government or large organisations. You will bring strong leadership skills alongside technical expertise in managing multi-faceted projects involving business change, data improvement, and digital transformation.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Familiarity with New Zealand’s public sector environment.
• Proven experience managing projects with multiple workstreams in government or large organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to set up projects from inception through to delivery.
• Experience working across business, data, digital, and vendor teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport quickly across diverse groups.
• Expertise in risk management, issue resolution, and dependency tracking throughout project lifecycles.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
