Unlocking the Full Potential of Annual Leave: Robert Walters Reveals How to Maximise Your Time Off

As a leading global recruitment consultancy, Robert Walters understands the importance of work-life balance and the value of time off. With the aim of helping professionals make the most out of their annual leave allowance, Robert Walters have used their wealth of knowledge to share valuable insights and tips on how to strategically plan your time off to enjoy extended breaks.

Maximise Your Annual Leave for Extended Breaks

With a little bit of planning, you can maximise your annual leave allowance, giving you more time to switch off and recharge your batteries. April has the most public holidays of the whole year so maximising your annual leave during this time is essential.

By leveraging the public holidays and carefully selecting your additional days off, you can enjoy an incredible ten-day break by taking just four days off over the Easter holidays.

The key dates to remember are:

·        Friday 29 March: Good Friday public holiday

·        Saturday 30 March: Weekend

·        Sunday 31 March: Easter Sunday (weekend)

·        Monday 1 April: Easter Monday public holiday

·        Tuesday 2 April: Use annual leave

·        Wednesday 3 April: Use annual leave

·        Thursday 4 April: Use annual leave

·        Friday April 5: Use annual leave

·        Saturday 6 April: Weekend

·        Sunday 7 April: Weekend

Extended Break Opportunity: ANZAC Day 2024

ANZAC Day 2024 also presents an opportunity for a well-deserved break. By taking just four days off, you can enjoy a rejuvenating nine-day vacation. The key dates for this extended break are:

·        Saturday 20 April: Weekend

·        Sunday 21 April: Weekend

·        Monday 22 April: Use annual leave

·        Tuesday 23 April: Use annual leave

·        Wednesday 24 April: Use annual leave

·        Thursday 25 April: ANZAC DAY public holiday

·        Friday 26 April: Use annual leave

·        Saturday 27 April: Weekend

·        Sunday 28 April: Weekend

Planning Ahead: Festive Season 2024/25

If you really want to get organised, you can plan ahead for the festive season. By taking just five days off, you can indulge in a blissful 12-day break over Christmas and New Year in 2024/25. Mark your calendars for the following dates:

·        Saturday 21 December: Weekend

·        Sunday 22 December: Weekend

·        Monday 23 December: Use annual leave

·        Tuesday 24 December: Use annual leave

·        Wednesday 25 December: Christmas Day public holiday

·        Thursday 26 December: Boxing Day public holiday

·        Friday 27 December: Use annual leave

·        Saturday 28 December: Weekend

·        Sunday 29 December: Weekend

·        Monday 30 December: Use annual leave

·        Tuesday 31 December: Use annual leave

·        Wednesday 1 January: Public holiday

By strategically planning your annual leave around public holidays and weekends, you can make the most out of your time off. Extended breaks like these allow professionals to recharge, spend quality time with loved ones, and return to work feeling refreshed and motivated.

Robert Walters encourages professionals to take advantage of these opportunities to prioritise their well-being and strike a healthy work-life balance.
