Senior Associate Litigation

The leading regional law firm in sunny Tauranga is seeking an experienced solicitor with over five years of post-qualification experience to join their highly regarded team, specialising in employment law and civil litigation.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-quality matters for corporate, commercial, local authority, and private clients both locally and nationally. The intention is to grow the right candidate to partnership at the firm The firm is renowned for its supportive and collaborative culture, modern offices in the heart of Tauranga’s CBD, and commitment to professional growth and wellbeing.

What you'll do:

  • Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of employment law including disputes, agreements, restructures, disciplinary processes, and mediation.
  • Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through to resolution or trial, ensuring timely progress and effective outcomes for clients.
  • Engage in other dispute resolution work as required by the needs of the practice and its diverse client base.
  • Draft clear and concise legal documents including pleadings, submissions, contracts, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and provide up-to-date guidance to clients.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience handling employment law matters with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) within a reputable practice or similar environment.
  • Proven track record managing civil litigation cases independently or as part of a wider team from initial instruction through resolution or trial.
  • Exceptional drafting abilities with clear written communication skills for preparing court documents as well as client-facing correspondence.
  • Meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy across all documentation prepared or reviewed under your supervision.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring junior colleagues by sharing knowledge generously while encouraging their professional growth within the team setting.
