What you'll do:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve advising private clients on complex family law issues, representing them during mediations, and drafting essential legal documentation. You will also have the rewarding opportunity to mentor junior solicitors, sharing your knowledge and helping them develop their skills. Working closely with experienced partners, you will contribute to the ongoing success of the firm while enjoying flexible working arrangements designed to fit around your personal commitments.
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and representation across all aspects of family law, ensuring clients receive empathetic and effective support throughout their cases.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the team, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a nurturing and collaborative workplace culture.
- Act as a trusted advisor for private clients, building strong relationships based on understanding, compassion, and reliability.
- Represent clients in mediations with sensitivity and professionalism, aiming for amicable resolutions that prioritise client wellbeing.
- Draft and review legal documents related to family law matters such as parenting agreements, relationship property settlements, and protection orders.
What you bring:
- Hold an LLB degree with a current practising certificate recognised in New Zealand.
- Possess 3-5 years post-qualification experience specifically within family law, showcasing your depth of knowledge in this area.
- Demonstrate proven experience acting for private clients on a variety of family law matters including relationship property disputes, care of children proceedings, and protection orders.
- Exhibit strong mentoring abilities with a genuine interest in supporting the development of junior team members within a collaborative setting.
- Bring experience or interest in wills, trusts, and estates as an added advantage that complements your core family law expertise.
