What you'll do:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating extensively with internal teams to ensure their requirements are met efficiently while also managing external supplier relationships to secure optimal terms. You will oversee the full spectrum of procurement activities—from contract negotiations through to supplier performance monitoring—ensuring transparency at every stage.
  • Develop comprehensive procurement strategies that reflect business priorities, proactively address supply chain risks, and deliver cost optimisation across the network division.
  • Establish and nurture strong working relationships with internal contracting divisions, identifying opportunities to enhance service effectiveness and ensure alignment with service level agreements.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with external suppliers, vendors, and distributors to guarantee adherence to delivery timeframes and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to understand their objectives and priorities, ensuring these are integrated into all procurement activities and outcomes.
  • Negotiate contractual terms with suppliers that accurately reflect organisational risk appetite, commercial priorities, and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance transparently against key performance indicators, engaging directly with suppliers when improvements are required.
  • Drive best practice in procurement processes including tenders, requests for proposals (RFPs), and other market engagement activities.
  • Analyse spending patterns and long-term procurement requirements to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Oversee critical spares inventory management procedures within the network division to ensure efficiency and reliability of supply chains.
  • Lead a team of procurement specialists by providing guidance, coaching, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the team.
What you bring:
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain management, procurement or logistics management
  • Demonstrate experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics management roles where you have delivered measurable results.
  • Exhibit excellent stakeholder management skills up to senior leadership level, enabling you to build trust-based relationships internally and externally.
  • Showcase outstanding commercial acumen alongside financial literacy that enables informed decision-making during contract negotiations.
  • Display exceptional written and verbal communication skills which allow you to convey complex information clearly across diverse audiences.
  • Bring extensive experience implementing procurement frameworks aligned with industry best practice standards for transparency and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail combined with superior interpersonal skills that facilitate positive relationship management outcomes.
  • Excel at influencing others through negotiation while remaining considerate of differing perspectives within multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Have proven ability to work collaboratively within teams as well as coach or upskill colleagues towards shared objectives.
