You will be joining a supportive team that values collaboration, professional growth, and the nurturing of meaningful client relationships.

What you'll do:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice on all aspects of general estate planning, including the formation, restructuring, and resettlement of trusts.
  • Draft and review key estate planning documents such as Enduring Powers of Attorney, Memoranda of Wishes, Wills, and other related legal documentation.
  • Manage financing and refinancing work relating to trust assets across both commercial and residential contexts, including conducting LINZ searches and registrations.
  • Support clients through the administration of estates and probate processes with empathy and attention to detail.
  • Advise on asset protection strategies and relationship property matters to ensure clients’ interests are safeguarded.
  • Foster quality relationships with existing clients while actively developing new client connections through networking and business development activities.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives and represent the firm at relevant events to enhance its profile within the community.
  • Mentor junior staff members by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and supporting their professional growth within the team.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in trusts law, estate planning, or private client advisory with 5+PQE and a NZ Practising Certificate.
  • Proven ability to draft complex legal documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds while maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Empathy, patience, and a client-focused mindset that ensures sensitive handling of emotionally charged situations such as estate administration or family disputes
  • A collaborative approach that allows you to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across different practice areas.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development demonstrated by participation in training or mentoring activities within previous roles.
  • Experience supporting or leading business development initiatives such as networking events or marketing campaigns is highly regarded.

What sets this company apart:

With decades of experience serving businesses, families, and individuals across multiple practice areas—including commercial law, property law, and private client services—the team is renowned for its technical expertise delivered through a pragmatic lens. The open-plan offices foster collaboration while providing modern amenities designed for comfort—from onsite showers to secure car parking.
