Health insurance

All staff are eligible to use the MSD group health insurance scheme provided by Southern Cross Healthcare. 

Vision 

care The cost of eye tests, glasses and contact lenses is subsidised through MSD's vision care scheme. The scheme applies to permanent employees who are regularly required to use a computer as part of their day-to-day duties. 

KiwiSaver 

KiwiSaver is a voluntary, long-term savings scheme designed to help New Zealanders save for their retirement. You may also be able to draw on your KiwiSaver to buy your first home. 

You can choose your own KiwiSaver scheme and fund type, but if you don't choose one, IRD will put you into one of their default schemes or you will be put into the Ministry's selected scheme. 

Banking package 

You'll be able to use the government banking package with Westpac which offers: 

• No annual fee on Westpac MasterCard
• Discount on insurance premiums
• Great rates on personal loans and selected Choices home loans.

Study assistance 

MSD has study assistance for employees taking on work-relevant tertiary or qualifications-based study.

Qualification programmes

MSD offers a range of NZQA qualifications to employees. Qualification programmes are grouped into four subject areas: Service Delivery, Specialist, Leadership and Regulatory Compliance.

Learning and development

To help you keep learning and developing in your job, we offer training programmes, mentoring and other opportunities. You'll make a plan with your manager to set goals you would like to achieve and work out how we can help you reach them.
